It's not just about spraying and brushing.
The right tools, a gentle technique and a consistent conditioning routine help preserve the hair your horse already has. Here's how to make every grooming session count.
Untangle before you brush.
Start by applying GLISTEN to dry or damp hair. Gently separate large knots with your fingers before reaching for a brush.
- Gather the tail into manageable sections.
- Loosely twist a section, leaving the bottom 4–5 inches free.
- Hold the hair above the section you're brushing and start at the ends.
- Work upward gradually, stopping to loosen any resistance.

Care for the tail dock.
During grooming, check the skin beneath the tail for dryness, flakes, rubbing or broken hair. Gently cleanse when needed and use Intensive Conditioner as a leave-in to condition the hair and moisturize the dock.

Persistent itching or hair loss can have several causes. If rubbing continues, ask your veterinarian to check for underlying skin problems.
